The Prime Minister has approved a master plan on bio-technology development and application in Viet Nam till 2020 in Decision 14/2008/QD-TTg. The master plan mainly targets the fields of agro-forestry-fisheries, food processing and safety, medical-pharmaceutical production and health care and environmental protection. It will also encourage the establishment and development of enterprises involving in production and services relating to bio-technology.
The decision specifies tasks regarding bio-technology application, legal documents and policies to encourage bio-technology development, and international cooperation in the field.
