Work last week began on an arterial road to connect new residential townships in northern Ha Tay province with Hanoi. Nam Cuong Group will build the 5.7-kilometre-long, 40-metre-wide road within 12 months which will link the extended Le Van Luong street in the capital with Ring Road No.4 in Ha Tay.

Ha Tay province is also working on a development plan for a boulevard that will start at the future National Exhibition Centre in My Dinh and end at Ring Road No.4. The boulevard will feature two 40m-wide lanes which will straddle newly built high-rise residential and office buildings.

The two artery roads will link the most dynamic areas of the two localities which are witnessing a boom in construction of residential, office and commercial projects. My Dinh is home to a series of major real estate projects under construction including the 70-storey Landmark Tower, Hanoi Plaza Hotel and Marriott Hotel. Other completed facilities comprise the National Convention Centre, Big C supermarket and National Sports Complex.

The road will run along other township developments in the pipeline such as Phung Khoang in Hanoi and Van Khe in Ha Tay before ending at Duong Noi. Ha Tay People’s Committee has allowed Nam Cuong Group to build the 5.7km road in exchange for land use rights of 197 hectares to build the proposed Duong Noi township.

Duong Noi is an integrated township with hotels, offices, apartments, villas, townhouses, healthcare centre and commercial areas. Nam Cuong says it will build a complex of 1,000 five-star hotel rooms, offices and apartments on 4.5ha.

The high-rise residential buildings will be built on 18ha while the upper-end villa complex, each covering 200 to 1,000 square metres, will be constructed on 35ha. In addition, Duong Noi will have an international hospital on 2.9ha and a market and commercial area on 9.6ha which will be built along the Ring Road No.4. Nam Cuong said it would invest more than $1 billion in the construction of the road and the township that are expected to completed in 2013.
